Tommy Hilfiger Country Club Mix

Tommy Hilfiger has released his Spring 2011 ad campaign, “El Country de-la Club-ius.”  And if the campaign is any indicator of the spring to come, it’s going to be a beautiful season.

One trend found throughout the campaign is structured blazers.  Both the male and female models are wearing them.  While a well-tailored blazer is usually paired with a polo t-shirt or a button-down blouse for a traditional preppy look, these models wear them in a much more relaxed fashion.  Women can be seen with blazers over their bikinis and men have them draped casually over their bare chests.  But for a more brunch-friendly outfit, it would probably be best to keep with the “no shoes, no shirt, no service” mentality and stick with a more classic blazer ensemble.

Retro-looking V-neck sweaters are also making a comeback for both men and women.  By making the sweater sleeveless and giving it a low neckline, the look feels updated and even a little bit flirty for women.  For the men, the look remains more conservative, but nonetheless still looks great over a crisp button-up.

Finally, bright accents add a fun and easy-going vibe to the usually polished apparel.  Whether it’s a funky headscarf, a patterned pocket square, or a pair of vibrant blue penny loafers, make sure to add a few pops of color to your spring wardrobe with an array of fun accessories.
