Last fall, it was announced that Karl Lagerfeld was launching another affordable line as a collaboration with the major department store, Macy’s. Now, it was been confirmed that the launch will be this fall, with the collection hitting Macy’s stores in the “Impulse” department on August 31. According to Macy’s, the collection will be featured in 235 Macy’s stores, and online at macys.com, complete with “limited-edition women’s apparel pieces reminiscent of the designer’s signature style.”
Karl Lagerfeld has also collaborated with the affordable store, H&M, and was the first high-end designer to collaborate with them, leading to amazing success for the brand and future collaborations with other designers such as Stella McCartney and their upcoming line with Versace. Lagerfeld stated “To me Macy’s is the perfect department store in the United States where everybody can find what they’re looking for without ruining their budget, that’s why I am happy to make this limited collection just for Macy’s.”
Macy’s reports that “the collection is a blend of refined dresses, airy tops, modern tweeds and his signature high-collared neck, priced on average from $50 to $170. A juxtaposition of color and graphic pattern create a vision of modern styling, while a tailored tuxedo dress with pin tucking exemplifies eternal elegance. The color palette ranges from soft to shocking pink and grey to noir. Collectible t-shirts and comfortable jackets mixed with crocodile print combine with chic leggings to give the collection a refreshing rock ‘n’ roll edge.” And now we have the first look at the collection with some of the sketches for the line available August 31.
