Socialite Nicole Richie is now said to be expanding her brand and is set to create a fashion line for home shopping channel QVC. The reality star and fashionista will launch the new line in February, which coincidentally will coincide with the premiere of her new reality show, Fashion Star.
By joining forces with the television shopping network, it is believed that Richie’s new line with have a cut-price range to create a budget version of her previous Seventies-inspired line. “The line is cute – it can be worn by teeny-tiny girls but also goes up to size XXXL. Nicole has a great fashion sense, and she’s very hands-on,” says an inside source.
The announcement of the line came as the star was named ‘Influencer of the Year’ at the Accessories Council Excellence (ACE) Awards. In an interview to commemorate the award, she stated that she was being careful to develop each of her fashion endeavors slowly, so that each could develop its own identity.
She also added that she designs with her customers in mind, receiving direct feedback from Facebook and Twitter. ‘I draw inspiration from various parts of my life and I absolutely would never design anything that I wouldn’t wear myself,’ she told the paper.
Ms. Richie will be following in some high-profile footsteps with QVC. Rachel Zoe, Kris Jenner, and Heidi Klum have also recently partnered with the network.
