While most people would argue that florals are for spring (groundbreaking, right?), we’re here to say that floral prints are no longer confined to the few months full of rain, pastels, and budding flora.
From intricate prints to sweetly placed embellishments, floral motifs have been appearing on runways everywhere, including collections from Valentino, Stella McCartney, Fendi, and of course, Gucci. Keeping florals as far away from spring as possible, designers have more frequently shown their floral pieces within their fall and pre-fall collections, beautifully blended with heavy outerwear and sharp silhouettes.
Style Tip: Instead of playing up the femininity of a floral print, add on a menswear inspired piece! Whether you choose a heavy coat, classic trench, or chunky knit sweater, the mixing of these two styles in one look creates interest (and will keep you warm).
Popular pairings we’ve spotted have been floral maxi dresses paired with a block heel boot and a tailored coat, embroidered floral statement coats, and floral pyjamas. From subtle to full-bloom, we’re obsessed with this latest trend and we’ll definitely be working florals into our winter wardrobe. Want more? Take a peek at a few of our favorite looks below!
