There’s nothing like winter in New York City, as romanticized by nearly every holiday movie that has been pumping through our TV’s since Halloween. But if you’re more than over the sight of cloudy skies, cold rains, and chilly winds that have been our main outfit influencers for the past few months, then there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Spring fashion inspiration that premiered this past September at New York Fashion Week will soon be seen throughout your favorite fashion stores. So while we wait out the last stretch of this winter weather, here are some new upcoming trends as well as a few returning favorites that you can expect to see.
- Off shoulder tops
If you stocked up on off-shoulder tops this summer, then you’re in luck for this upcoming spring season. The change in weather is the perfect excuse to bare some shoulder, even if the temperature has only warmed up to about 50 degrees (which feels like 80 in comparison to the frigid temperatures we’ve had lately). Wear this style in a floral to really bring out those spring vibes.
2. ankle strap heels
Get the ultimate chic meets stylish shoe for this spring with a strappy heel in your favorite pastel color, such as this pretty rose quartz pair. Bonus points if they have a super trendy detail like faux fur or pom poms attached.
3. slip dress
The slip dress has been on our radars for quite some time now, but the trend is not backing down for the spring 2017 season. It is a very versatile piece, and can be worn with layers in the colder half of spring but transitions nicely into a singular outfit for the warmer months.
4. cropped wide leg pants
Capris are a spring staple, but the wide leg trend is the newest update on this classic look. Wear them as a matching two piece outfit as pictured for a cohesive look in a standout color or maybe go with a white or tan pair for outfit versatility.
5. greenery anything
Pantone’s 2017 “Color of the Year” is called Greenery, and this botanical color is very reminiscent of everything related to spring and new life. Let this color bring new life to your wardrobe this spring in the form of blouses, accessories, dresses, or jackets (as pictured above).
