Calvin Klein Debuts American Inspired Fall 2017 Collection

Many people across the fashion industry have anxiously awaited the Calvin Klein Collection fall 2017 show. But you’re probably wondering what makes this show so much more spectacular than any other fashion week show? Raf Simons. That’s right, this is Simon’s first collection for Calvin Klein after taking over complete creative control. In fact, he is the first person to do this besides Klein himself.

Simons debuted his Calvin Klein collection Friday morning for an exclusive group of designers, editors, and celebrities. A few of the celebs in the mix include, Brooke Shields, Gwenyth Paltrow, and Millie Bobby Brown–the fresh face for the brand.

The collection was heavily menswear inspired–yes, that’s addition to the men’s clothes that were shown. Button up shirts, tailored pants, oversized blazers and calf length skirts all made appearances in classic hues of red, blue, green and gray. Accents of feather and leather were used throughout the collection, which added a twist to many of the pieces. Two things that stood out the most in the collection were the cowboy boots complete with a metallic toe, and the plastic shield that gracefully covered a gold robe and gray and brown plaid suit jackets. Oh, and we can’t forget the plastic see-through last dress. I mean, it wouldn’t be a Calvin Klein line if there wasn’t a little bit of sexiness. We are in the midst of a #mycalvins fad after all.

From traditional suit inspired looks to the incorporation of cowboy boots, Raf definitely took note of American classics to successfully fit them in the iconic brand.
