Fashion news everywhere is reviewing fall style, and cumulating lists of the season’s hottest and most-desired trends.
One of our favorite collective records of the fall’s finest trends come from our friends at iVillage, who create an “it” list of some of favorite blogger’s must-have trends.
Drawing from the knowledge of these top-fashion bloggers, we want to focus on one of the most versatile, fun and cheapest personal-style statements – nails!
Here are the trendiest looks for nails this season:
Color:
Per normal for the fall season, deep, lush colors are in. Whether is be a dark wine, a shadowy midnight blue, a royal purple or a deep chocolate color, these intense shades seem to never go out of cold-weather style.
Try:
YSL in Belle de Nuit
OPI in I’m Suzie & I’m a Chocoholic
Chanel in Blue Satin
New this season are neutral matte shades that look good on all skin tones: clay grey, taupe, khaki greens, cream putty and rose.
Try:
Chanel’s Le Vemis Trio
OPI in Over the Taupe
Vintage Look:
Beauty Brand Nars has released a new Vintage Collection of nail polishes that focus on off-beat hues in metallic luster. The colors shimmer in the light, and give you an instant Hollywood feel.
TRY:
Nars Vintage Nail Collection, available for $16 per polish at narscosmetics.com
Moon Manicures:
This look creates a retro feel – at Ruffian’s show they took a pale base color, and added a rounded black French Tip and monogram. At Butter London they left the nail nude with only the moon-shaped accent at the base of the nail. At Stylist.com, they suggest using a nail art pen to get the perfect moon shape.
Decals:
Adding a simple stud or diamond, or an array of sparkle can really vamp up your nail look and make it a dominant accessory. Heavy-duty nail glue and a fast-drying topcoat will help this look last for a number of days. If the thought of adding decoration seems like too much, look for polishes that contain glitter and add glamour.
