Just when you had picked up all of your favorite pieces from superstar stylist Rachel Zoe’s new collection, her resort 2012 line is right around the corner. Zoe posted an exclusive video on her website showing everyone a behind the scenes look at the shoot for her Resort 2012 Lookbook.
Zoe says that she wanted the Resort collection to flow smoothly from her fall line. “The inspiration for this collection was taking my same concept from fall-being the uptown girl, the downtown girl, the Parisian-chic girl, the charlie girl-and kind of transitioning her into resort wear,” explains Zoe. “I wanted to keep it in sync with fall but adding a lot of special pieces and transitional fabrics, super bright colors, mixed with black and white,” says Zoe. The resort line includes military inspired pieces, shorts, trouser tuxedos, fun mini party dresses, maxi skirts, and of course, tons of sequins.
Zoe’s favorite pieces from her resort line are the flowing maxi skirts and dresses. “The maxi skirt for me, it’s kind of the new wide-leg jean,” explains Zoe. The maxi look is one of Zoe’s signature pieces in her wardrobe, so she wanted to share the look, and how to style the look, with all of you fashionistas out there. “I really wanna show people how to wear the maxi. I did it with a great slit so it’s a bit sexier, but you can also wear it with flats and a tee-shirt, with a bomber jacket,” says Zoe. Zoe thought about her favorite piece, the maxi, while designing other pieces in her resort line. “I did an assortment of unbelievable tops to go with these skirts and then I also did it in long dresses,” explains Zoe.
While we love everything Rachel Zoe does, we will not be able to buy the entire line. We picked the short, flirty party dresses and anything in sequins as our favorites from her resort line. “Pick your favorite, and have fun with it. That’s what fashion is all about,” says Zoe.
