A chic new trend celebs are loving is the classic collar. The great thing about sporting a collar is that there are surprisingly many ways to wear it, creating an array of fashionable looks; however, each look will definitely have a classy, chic essence as collars are a great way to make your outfit a little more sophisticated.
Some celebrities sporting the collar trend include Alexa Chung, Emma Watson, Hailee Steinfeld, Kourtney Kardashian, Chloe Moretz, Pippa Middleton, Natalie Portman, Kate Bosworth, and Rachel Bilson just to name a few.
Model and style expert, Alexa Chung, is always up to speed on the hot new trends. Alexa is a huge fan of collars, and in the picture above, we see her sporting a classic white peter pan version. A peter pan collar is the same as a normal color, like Emma Watson’s, but is more circular in form, giving off a girly feel. Other starlets who donned the peter pan collar are Kourtney Kardashian, Pippa Middleton, and Chloe Moretz, who sported the peter pan collar in a bright yellow color.
Another way to sport a chic collar is by wearing a sparkly collar with beaded embellishments. Hailee Steinfeld sported a totally sophisticated dress, but it’s the collar that takes this otherwise simple outfit to the next level. Adding some sparkle to any outfit, especially around the neckline on a collar, is a great way to make your outfit fun and eye catching. Natalie Portman also donned the sparkly collar trend.
In addition to the peter pan and sparkly collar, you can also wear a printed collar, such as Rachel Bilson. On Jimmy Fallon’s late night show, Rachel donned this classic black dress from the Preen Resort 2012 collection. This is another perfect example of how to let the collar be your statement piece in the overall ensemble. Just like Hailee, who let her sparkly collar steal the show, Rachel also did the same with her bright yellow, printed collar.
